Community Change Action is a 501(c)(4) advocacy organization whose mission is to “build the power and capacity of low-income people, especially low-income people of color, to change their communities and public policies for the better.” With the help of almost 100 local affiliate organizations nationwide, Community Change Action is creating an impressive network of grassroots organizers fighting for progressive change.
Community Change Action is one of Impactive’s largest clients, and we have been honored to work with the inspiring organization since early 2019. Community Change Action is endlessly creative in adapting Impactive’s digital organizing tools to meet the diverse needs of their affiliates: Community Change Action and affiliate organizers completed over 250,000 actions in less than a year. Here are just a few of the ways that Community Change Action mobilized voters in 2020:
The New Jersey Organizing Project (NJOP) is building a network of activist community members trained to address issues, such as healthcare and disaster relief. NJOP used Impactive to gather signatures for a petition to issue a mortgage forbearance for all homeowners and rental assistance for renters whose income was impacted by COVID-19.
Mothering Justice is a Detroit-based non-profit focused on empowering mothers to advocate for policies that benefit working families. One of Mothering Justice’s core objectives is civic engagement, so the organization leveraged Impactive to encourage their members to complete the 2020 Census.
Colorado People’s Action is a racial justice organization mobilizing voters, supporting progressive candidates, and holding elected officials and corporations accountable. In light of the coronavirus outbreak, Colorado People’s Action used Impactive to mobilize members to urge the state to pass policies preventing a public health crisis in immigrant detention centers around Colorado.
Michigan People’s Campaign is a progressive collective organizing for living wages, Medicare for All, and the Green New Deal. The organization used Impactive to organize Spanish-speaking communities to demand action from lawmakers, specifically requesting assistance for immigrant populations impacted by COVID-19.
Each of these campaigns delivered key results for Community Change Action and their affiliates, reaching thousands of eligible voters and furthering the organizations’ missions.
Team Impactive is proud to work with Community Change Action and their inspiring affiliate partners, and we are excited to continue celebrating more relational organizing wins with them.
The Iowa Senate Majority Fund used Impactive to boost voter mobilization and drive a 3x return on their fundraising texts ahead of the 2022 midterm elections.
