Dear Friends,
We’re excited to introduce you to Impactive. Yes, we are changing our name! However, we are still the same Outvote that you and your supporters devoted your time and energy to over the last four years. As 2020 came to a close, we took some time as a team to reflect on our work to date and discuss the future of digital organizing and how the tools we’ve built could continue to be used in contexts such as grassroots fundraising, organizing for specific legislation, community building, and generally advancing the progressive movement. So while we look forward to continuing to invest in helping get out the vote, we’re excited to expand even further into the advocacy and nonprofit space and work closely with our clients to build exactly what they need to make an impact.
What did we achieve together?
Thanks to your work, nearly 1,000 partner campaigns and organizations (spanning all 50 states), sent over 150 million messages to voters nationwide. More than 66% of the friends you texted confirmed they submitted their ballots, and 72% of them were in battleground states. We helped get Joe Biden and many other candidates into office. In total, we reached over 70 million people this past election cycle on Outvote.
Why did we rebrand, and what can we achieve moving forward?
Since 2017, Outvote has been building a digital organizing platform in collaboration with our clients. We are proud to have worked in partnership with leading progressive campaigns, organizations, and unions to build a uniquely powerful relational and digital organizing tool. As we continue to grow, we needed a name that reflected the breadth our tool offers: we know that electoral and voting outreach is vital, but we also acknowledge opportunities to organize for legislative advocacy, worker rights, and nonprofit fundraising and capacity building.
What can you expect from us?
Impactive will continue to build the digital infrastructure of progress upon the foundation that Outvote started. The platform will provide all of the same functionality Outvote previously did, but will grow to include additional tools, including broadcast texting, phone banking, expanded relational and canvassing features, improved social sharing and story-telling integrations, and more intuitive experiences for both volunteers and administrators.
We’re living in unprecedented times (yes, we would like to retire that phrase soon as well) and with that, the unknown is inevitable but we are prepared to embrace technological advances and change. As we strive to keep up with ever altering expectations and evolving market trends we would love to hear from you about what you’d like to see us build next.
We know we cannot be everything to everyone, but with your input, we can fill the gaps you see in the market where you wish the ecosystem had better technology. If you haven’t yet taken a moment to share your feedback, you can do so by reaching out to us at support@impactive.io. With your help, we can avoid reinventing the wheel and properly focus our efforts on the current pain points of digital organizing.
Though it may feel like the biggest election of our lifetimes is over, we know there is still so much work to do and we remain committed to the pursuit of justice, equality, and progress. We are honored to work every day alongside you.
Onward,
Naseem Makiya
